Texas Holdem Hands
Texas Holdem is a game of strategy and luck. If you have a good hand then you have a better chance of winning. The hands are based on rankings. The hands are ranked based on various combinations. A particular combination will have a better ranking than another set of hand. Below is a list of a few better ranking hands that have a very good chance of giving you a win.
Royal Straight Flush
This is the best hand to have in a game of Texas Holdem. As good as it is; it’s also the rarest hand to have. The hand has all the cards of a same suite right from the Ten to Ace. This is known as a straight flush and it is known as Royal Straight Flush as it has the highest set of cards.
Straight Flush
This is also one of the best hands to have in Texas Holdem. It is not as great as the Royal Straight flush but it is still rare. It has a set of 5 cards of the same suite in a straight succession, either 6-10 or A-5. In Texas Holdem, an Ace can make up both as the high and low.
Four of a Kind
This is the easiest to figure out. It means having four cards of the same kind. This is also rare and hence makes up for a high ranking hand.
Full House
A full house is another high ranking hand in which you have a set of three of a kind cards and also a pair. To decide which of the two sets has a higher ranking, you have to analyze the three cards of the same kind. The one with the larger hand wins. If both sets are the same then a comparison should be done. Full Houses are one of the better hands to have in Texas Holdem as at least one of the players would show down whenever you play it.
Flush
A flush happens when you have a set of 5 cards of the same suite. In case you have all the cards in succession then you have a straight flush. A flush is very common in Texas Holdem and is a reasonably good hand to have.
Straight
A straight is a hand in which the players have a set of 5 cards of in succession. The cards need not be of the same suite. This is a very common hand and hence not very highly ranked.
In short, the rarer the odds of getting a hand, the higher would be its rank. The player with the hand of the highest rank wins the game.
